It’s Waffles Day!!

When IKEA approached me to collaborate with them, I was pretty excited but at the same time, I was worried that I couldn’t have the extra time to work on the projects. However, after Irina shared the brief with me, I knew I have to take it up because it’s gonna be lots of fun with my 2 little ones. Think fun tasks and quality time with my kids, so why not? 😉

The first task which was given to me was to celebrate Swedish Waffles Day which falls on 25th March. I thought it would be great to have a picnic with XiaoBao & MiniBao at the comfort of our own home.

Over the weekend, I brought the kids to IKEA to shop around for all the things to make our Waffles Picnic a success.

Truth to be told, I have never walked into IKEA market so it was great to find out IKEA food market sells frozen waffles (and many more convenient food that looks delicious which we bagged home too).

XiaoBao woke up from his nap first so I got him to help out with the preparation. Simple tasks like placing the frozen waffles onto the oven tray

and removing the leaf from the strawberries and rinsing them.The frozen waffles definitely saved us lots of time because all we had to do was to pop these heart shaped waffles into my oven and wait for a short while till they turned crispy & golden brown.

And TADAH, they are ready to be served! I served the waffles on the PROPPMÄTT Chopping board which I thought makes a nice looking serveware too.

On it, I have spreaded a portion of SYLT JORDGUBB Strawberry & Blueberry Jam which I also got from IKEA’s food market and some Nutella too.

I also also prepared a variety of other toppings and some fruits.

• Fresh Strawberries
• Fresh Blueberries
• Pocky & Biscuit Sticks

Which were served using MIXTUR serveware and I placed them on the second tier of FÖRÄDLA three tier serving stand together with the extra waffles on the top tier and the last tier was left for fruit platter.

Other toppings such as Cereal, M&M’s chocolates and raisins were stored in KORKEN jar that has an aroma-tight seal, keeping food fresh for a longer period of time.

And I also prepared some more cereals as a topping choice in VARDAGEN jar with lid cos my kids love cereals!

Other than having a good variety of topping choices for our Waffles Day, I also wanted to try to give my children the best home picnic experience so I gotten the RESÖ Children’s picnic table (which I super love because it’s so cute!!) and set it up at our balcony. Wanted to get the artificial grass to make them feel closer to having a picnic outdoor but it was sold out on the day I went. 😭

As I wanted them to be a part of the entire experience, I tried getting XiaoBao to help out in some simple tasks. Wanted Mikayle to do it as well but most of the time, she was napping or it was too complex for her to handle. 😅

So, we got XiaoBao to help assemble the picnic table by drilling the screws in but of course, its with my husband’s assistance.

As usual, it’s so easy to assemble IKEA’s item.

Once we got everything prepared, we all helped to bring everything to the balcony. The kids were so excited and they eagerly went to sit down and got all ready to start. 😂

Just look at the wide grin on their faces. 😍

And Mikayle couldn’t wait a second longer and wanted to eat the food already. 😅

XiaoBao helped himself to the waffles and took 1 for his little sister too.

I told the kiddos to choose their own toppings and decorate their own waffles cos that is part of the fun of the entire process, isn’t it? 😉

Mikayle was still quite lost. She didn’t know that the toppings were meant to be placed onto of her waffles so she kept popping them directly into her mouth. Hahaha!

After Mikayle watched and observed her brother, she followed suit and of course, picked whatever her big bro picked. HAHAHA!

Then XiaoBao told his little sister that she can put other toppings too.

Mikayle seems satisfied already though.

After selecting his toppings, he squeezed out some hot fudge sauce over his waffle.

He definitely looks damn satisfied with his final product. But errrr, the hot fudge sauce was a little too much, right?

Mikayle was also decorating her waffles with other toppings and when she saw her brother putting the hot fudge, she wanted some too. Squeezed out a little for her.

AND SMILE!!! She loves it!

While XiaoBao was still adding more strawberries to his waffles, Mikayle was so happy with hers and couldn’t wait to start.

But first, have a drink. 😉

My husband and I joined in to eat with them too.

Feeding XiaoBao his first ever bite of IKEA’s waffles and my husband cut Mikayle’s waffle into pieces so it’s easier for her to eat.

My husband is always busy with work so I’m really glad that he took time out to be part of this lovely afternoon. I’m sure both the kids enjoyed the time spent with him.

Kids being kids means they can get overly excited and tends to knock things off the table. Name one kid who has never ever knock something over. I know NONE. Hahaha so if you have noticed, each of them got a set of children’s tableware from the KALAS collection.

Throughout the session, we ate, talked, sang, laughed and the kids danced too. So much fun!

Of course, I prepared Apple & Grape juice in IKEA 365+ Jug with cork lid to quench their thirst and hydrate them.

As much as this is a sponsored post, all the ideas & creativity were entirely my own. So I’m thankful to be able to work on a campaign while having such quality and fun time with my precious little ones.

I’m definitely gonna do more of such activities with my two little ones because they enjoyed it so much. And I strongly encourage more parents to try having a picnic/tea session like this at home.

No HP, no TV, no distractions. Just parents and kiddos and perhaps, some music? We played KPOP because my both kids love it. HAHAHA 😉

Preparation is also easy because IKEA has all that we need for setup too.

IUIGA – Review & Giveaway!

The very first time I heard/read about IUIGA is from Dayre & I’ve read the good reviews about their products as well; esp from @lynnnnn

First up, the hangers.

Lol used my best “prop” for my IG post. Yes, I’m referring to XiaoBao. Hahaha

It comes in a set of 5 with a mixture of pink and green color.

All these years, I’ve using hangers from IKEA because it’s simply cheap and good. I don’t have a big house and a luxury of wardrobe space. And with my overflowing amount of clothes (some are sitting on THE CHAIR because I simply can’t squeeze them into my wardrobe), I stick to using IKEA for myself and used these IUIGA to hang my husband’s shirts.

The hanger has anti-slip grips and shoulder contours hold garments in place while retaining its natural drape. I’ve tried hanging my spaghetti strapped dresses but the straps keep slipping off so my verdict is, these hangers are best used to hang shirts.

Underwear Organiser which is made with Cotton-Linen Polyester. The quality is pretty good for the friendly price tag.

Well, I have ALOT of underwear. 😂 Like how I tell my husband or my ex helper, my underwear are categorized as;

– Sleeping Underwear
– Relax Underwear (home use only)
– “Gaigai” Underwear (seamless)
– Panties (the nicer/sexier looking ones)
😂😂 anyone the same?

So anyway, my point is… I have so many that it’s impossible to fit into this Underwear Organiser.

So I used it to keep the ties. I very much prefer the ties to be kept like this instead of hanging cos when there are too many ties hanging, sometimes it gets “tangled” when trying to get 1 out.

It comes with a transparent cover.

And you can easily see and pick out the exact item you want.

Next, it’s Inner Wear Organiser which is also made of Cotton-Linen Polyester.

I didn’t quite know what I can use this for. I mean, I know it’s for inner wear but I didn’t like how it’s being sorted so I ended up using to store something else. 😬

TADAH! I used it to keep some of the belts. Same reason as the ties. We used to just hang all the belts so now, we have some proper storage. Hahaha

Definitely my top 3 fav is this! The Hanging Wardrobe Storage. It’s retailing at $13.80 only and the traditional retail price which is stated on IUIGA’s site is $26.90 which is almost double.

Since I only have 1 of it now, I used it to keep some boxers, lounge pants and towels. It has 6 slots so it’s pretty sufficient. I’m already planning to get a couple more for the kids’ wardrobes.

Storage Box. I knew exactly what I’m gonna store in it when I saw it.

I used it to store the kids’ diapers, wet wipes and their lotions! It may seem like just another storage box but it’s my top 3 favorite too! Hahaha I like how neatly the essentials for diaper change are all packed into a box for easy access too.

Ok! Done with the wardrobe storage. Moving on to the cleaning accessories.

Premium Silky Mesh Laundry Bag that comes in 3 different sizes; 23cm, 33cm and 38cm.

All my laundry bags were bought from Daiso and honestly, I don’t really like it cos I find it rough and not as soft to touch.

So I really love these laundry bags! It does it’s job well and comes out really soft to touch. Best, it’s just slightly more expensive ($2.98 to $4.38 only!!) than Daiso’s but the quality is SOOOO MUCHHHH BETTER! Definitely worth every penny. 👍🏻

Lastly, it’s Microfiber 360° Easy Spin Flat Mop.

This microfiber 360° easy spin flat mop comes with adjustable handle from 77.5cm to 128cm when it’s fully extended.

However, after using it, I didn’t quite like it as I had a hard time tightening the handle so it kept becoming loose. For the price of $16.80, it still does it’s job but I would pick Scotch-Brite or magic clean over this. I personally feel that their handles are more sturdy and easier to control.

BUT!!! BUT!!! BUT!!!!!!

I like their microfiber mop pads!!!

IUIGA’s microfiber mop pads are thicker with tens of thousands of micro-loops which grip dirt, dust and pet hair effectively. It is also machine-washable for multiple use. For the quality, effectiveness and longevity of this item, $9.80 per refill is very worth it!

She just turned 18 months recently and the day after, she poo-ed using the toilet bowl for the first time! And of course, u can see how happy she was. Hahaha how cuteeee!

I’m damn happy because I’m struggling to toilet train XiaoBao cos this boy is so timid that he say he’s scared being on the potty or toilet bowl. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I’m happy that Mikayle is the opposite so I don’t have to deal with 2x problem. Hahaha

This 1 week has been crazier than ever. My bro who mainly runs Omo Omo pet store is away on a 10 days trip so guess who is the slave?

Yesterday was a fun day!

These 2 little ones really melts my heart every day.

Anyway, we went to check out the newly opened indoor playground at Northpoint!

And I actually like the place a lot. Its not huge but a good amount of space with variety of play area. My kiddos played for 2 hours straight and my friend’s kid played for 3 hours!

I paid $10/child for unlimited play. How cheap!!! I’m definitely bringing them back there again! Not an ad ah! Hahaha

So as you can see from the pic, XiaoBao was wearing pink socks cos the staff all thought he’s a girl. 🤦🏻‍♀️ oh wells, what’s new? 🤷🏻‍♀️

A couple of weeks ago, I headed down to 1Aesthetic Medical & Surgery located at WestGate to meet Dr Wan to see how I can further enhance my looks.

Just a selfie with the wall of certificates which the doctor achieved.

Brought XiaoBao along with me and thankfully, the staffs are all very nice ladies and played with him.

I kept an open mind and consulted Dr Wan to see what he recommends. During the consultation, he asked what are my concerns and with his expertise and experience, he further advise me on what I can do to target these concerns.

1) Botox for my jawline
2) Filler for my nose and chin for enhancement
3) Filler for my forehead
4) Methods to remove my double chin.

(OMG! There are ways! I thought my double chin is here to stay with me forever. Because, no matter how skinny I am, even when I was 41kg, the double chin never goes away!)

Anyway, I didn’t do all the above at one go.
I did Botox. You can use Botox to achieve a V-shaped face! Botox actually stands for Botulinum Toxin and it helps to temporarily paralyse the muscles. We have two bulky muscles on each side of the angle of our jaw and they help us to chew.

Sometimes, due to excessive chewing or grinding of teeth, the muscle at the jawline can grow bigger. So by injecting Botox, it helps to relax the muscle & it’s effective in shrinking the jawline. Therefore, you can achieve a more V-shaped face.

There are 3 brands of botulinum toxin HSA registered in Singapore & what Dr Wan is using at 1Aesthetic is Dysport.

Dr Wan went through with me on the process and what to expect after the procedure too.

His friendly assistant helped to cleanse my face to prepare for Botox. If you are afraid of pain, you can choose to have numbing cream on for about 30 minutes.

I did it without numbing and honestly, no pain. Hahaha 30 minutes saved.

The Procedure

First, Dr Wan will feel for the area/muscle and mark the spots to inject.

Secondly, he will ice it to numb the area for abit.

Lastly, inject!

Here’s a video of the procedure. It’s really painless lah.

And here’s the before and after! The ‘AFTER’ photos are taken 2 weeks after the procedure! I can already see a difference although Dr Wan said the optimal results will show after 4 weeks.

The jawlines are definitely more defined.

No alteration made to the photos ok?! Except brightening of the "before" photos cos it was pretty dark.

Since XiaoBao was such a good boy throughout the whole session, I brought him on the train ride and an afternoon of fun at the arcade.

My daughter is a dog lover. Big or small, she's not afraid of them and kept wanting to pat/hug them. She gets really excited when she sees a dog.

It's really sturdy and easy to maneuver around. Less than $200 I think. There's another version of it that comes with shade (refer to the photo which XiaoBao was sitting in the pram).

This is one cute little poodle whom was just done with basic grooming at Omo Omo yesterday.

Looking so white and fluffy again. 😍

If only I have the photos of how the shop space looked like before the renovation. It was in a horrible state.

And of course, trust no one but my husband to handle the design and renovation part of work.

This is the counter area. Looking so good! Even seeing it for so many times already, I'm still in love with the entire feel and look of the shop. Seriously, everyone that enters said that the shop looks really good! And it's true!

I can totally understand how this lady was feeling when her brow started to fall off after her pregnancy cos I had this issue too. One brow of mine have holes because my brow hair started falling off too after my 2nd pregnancy. But good thing is, nothing an eyebrow Embroidery can't fix! ☺ Now, her brows are now defined and fuller too! Looking so so good and definitely her confidence level boosted too!

It's super lightweight; almost weightless and it doesn't damage ur real lashes if it's done correctly. Kids Updates!

So recently, we went to BKK.

You can't really tell from this pic but we were on a TukTuk which XiaoBao absolutely enjoyed riding in. After this short trip, I can only say bringing a toddler to BKK is extremely exhausting but at least I didn't went crazy. 😂 I'm glad that this trip happened bcos it was an experience for XiaoBao to see things which he has never seen before. We experienced mild flood whereby we had to hand carry our stroller, carry XiaoBao & walk into the stream of dirty water. 😅

But he has learnt new things from this trip so that makes all the body aches and perspiration worth it.

My friends asked me how was it to bring a toddler along to BKK.

Honestly, I think it's ok. Hahaha I didn't feel that I was dying or anything. We just did as per our usual. Platinum mall. Pray. Chatuchak. Chinatown. Night markets. It was pretty good. XiaoBao was happy throughout the trip too. No fussing/tantrums. So it was all good, except for the rain.

XiaoBao is so cute and… vain😂Whenever he sees something he likes, he says, "Mama! Take photo (of) Jace." 😂 So here are the photos of him and his favorite TukTuk and some others which he asked me to snap. Hahaha the story behind the photo with Ronald McDonald's was funny. We were already seated at another restaurant and he saw a lady taking photo with the statue, XiaoBao then asked me to follow him and told me to take a photo of him. 😂

The other night, he offered to dry my hair for me too.

He even asked.. "very hot right?"

This happened.

We had a late night at my parents' place and it was drizzling so my husband went to get the car while the kids and I waited for him by the roadside.

Suddenly, 3 flower pots, 1 by 1, came crashing down right in front of us.

When the 2nd pot crashed, I knocked on my husband's car door to get him to quickly unlock the door so I can put the kids inside for shelter. I was worried that the broken pieces might fly and cut them.

At that point of time, my husband was furious.

He told me to call the police.

I called my Mom (don't know why I did that actually. But the first thing I did was to actually call my Mom) and she told me to call the police too.

And so I did.

While I'm almost done reporting to the police over the line, a man appeared & started picking up the broken pieces and threw it into the bin nearby.

Then, he went to apologize to my husband. His parents came down shortly after and his Dad was asking my husband to let it go.

My husband explained to them about how dangerous this act can be. If anyone happens to be right at that spot, it could be deadly.

Or if we have board the car a few seconds earlier, it could land on our windscreen and smash right into us too.

Then, he explained that they had some family issues and he's sorry. My husband said, "No matter how angry you are, you can't do this."

Soon, the polices arrived.

Truth to be told, the moment I saw the man apologizing with tears in his eyes, I instantly feel extremely bad for calling the police.

The man kept telling us to help him by telling the police that we didn't see him throw it down and it's probably an accident. Well, truth is, we didn't see him throwing the pots down. Another truth is, it's definitely not an accident.

When the police asked us, we said the flower pots landed in front of us but we didn't see who threw it down.

His Mom came.

His Mom started lashing out at him. Then, we found out that the policemen just left their place awhile ago & the police actually told him to leave his parents' place.

From what I know…

1) His Mom refused to let him into the house and the police managed to get him 2 pieces of new clothing.

2) He was just released from the prison.

3) His Mom has probably given up on him.

How I derived on point #3 is because when the police was asking his Mom if it was his son who threw the pots down…

His Mom said, "Yes! I saw him throw it down."

I was stunned and my heart sank.

His Mom continued saying..

"Bring him away! Put him in jail! Even if it's only a year is good for me! Him staying outside my house is creating trouble. Let him inside my house is a tragedy! You don't know how much trouble he has created for us! Go! Go put him in jail!"

I could see his Dad was sad and didn't want to leave but he got pulled away by his wife. While crossing the road, a car approached.

Everyone was asking them to watch out for the car and their son went forward to try and assist them and his Mom said,"I can take care of my own husband!"

I really felt so extremely sad at that point.

I feel so sorry for the Mom. Because what has the son done to made his Mom do this to him? How heartbroken must she be to do this to her own son?

I feel so sorry for the guy. Because why his own parent is not helping him this time round. How unwanted and unloved he must have felt. 😢

Probably if the parents could tolerate a little more, welcome him home, show him more love…. probably, just probably, it could help him to become a better person?

Or probably the guy has really done too much wrong.

I don't know but I know it must a really tough journey for their family.

It makes me wonder… how far and how much should we help someone? At what point should we give up on someone? By reporting to the police, did I do right or wrong? Did I just helped or harmed him?

My husband talked to me about this incident on our journey home.

My mom & I spoke on the phone about it too. She told me not to feel bad and try to sleep.

Both of them are on the same page.

That, reporting is right. It's helping him. It probably made him learn & not do it again. If we don't report, he probably would do it again and what if it really land on someone & cost a life. That would be a lifetime regret.

Sigh.
I wonder how are they now. 😔

I hope they would have happier days ahead.

If it's you who witnessed the flower pots flying down from a block, what would you do?

Would a mother ever really truly give up on our own child?

But then again, if the pots were to hit any of us, I will probably go hysterical & pursue till the end.

But if you have witnessed the emotionally sad scene and the teary-eyed man in his 40s, you probably could feel the heartache too. He said his parents look down on him. ☹️
